Like I said in my previous post on Emafe Rice, I’ll eventually start transferring my old posts from my original website: PinkieRiceGurl. I will only select some of them to transfer here like I am now.
It’s nice to remember the old days, your first try and your excitement when you were just starting. My first blog post was written over five years ago and it reminds me of the times when I was so ambitious to blog but didn’t know how to start. Thanks to my husband for always encouraging me to try and follow what I really want to do for myself. I also learned about YouTube, Blogger and some other stuff online because of him. I remember those days I was reading blogs from people I followed and I watched YouTube videos almost everyday just to learn and educate myself so I could start my own. Those days were awesome and full of excitement.
So allow me to share with you the first post I ever wrote, an introduction in 2010.
A love for art and fashion represent much of my childhood. I can still remember collecting hair ties and hair clips in elementary and trying different looks to make myself feel pretty. My peers didn’t have similar interests but I think being different means your unique…. doesn’t it?
I was involved in quite a bit of extracurricular activities all through grade school but it wasn’t until 7th grade that I had my first makeup artist. My family would pay him to do my makeup when I would perform for dance class. It was then that I began to love eyebrow pencils, eyelash curlers and lipsticks but I didn’t yet know how to use eye shadow.
I continued using light makeup past college. Then on March 5th, 2010 I got married to my bestest friend. He bought me a laptop and introduced me to sites like Facebook and YouTube. YouTube caught my eye immediately. I found makeup gurus to be fascinating. With their inspiration I learned how to apply eye-shadow. I also learned how to use false lashes. I studied the net almost every day for about a month and a half. I may not have gone to beauty school but I learned a lot.
Now I’m just loving makeup and I’m extremely thankful. The makeup Greats woke me up to my passion and uncovered new talents. Although I’m still fairly new to the YouTube community, I remain positive that viewers like you will like me and enjoy my tutorials. I promise to do my best to create a pleasant presence and add to the lives of everyone I meet.
Nice meeting you. I’m Emafe Rice, a beloved wife full of hopes and dreams. I’m your friend. Thanks for reading. I wish you happiness and success, always, in all ways.
The only difference I noticed today is that I can easily come up of something I wanna share on my blog. Not like before, I always get so stressed and I was having a hard time focusing on what to share next.
