We got invited again for food appreciation at Bean Leaf Cafe with the Davao Vloggers/Youtubers. The Cafe is located at The Peak in Gmall, Bajada. Thanks also to Cha for inviting us.
We were thankful we arrived before they officially started since we arrived late and got lost looking for the location (we went to a different Cafe with a similar name on accident).
So I’m going to start with the coffee and drinks impression first and I will also include Chris’s own thoughts. As for me, I like all of them except the Matcha Green Tea (I just don’t like Green Tea).
Bean Leaf Cafe Latte: I love the subtle taste with its perfect combo of coffee and cream. I could taste the coffee but it wasn’t too strong which is good for me since I already started lowering my caffeine intake and switched to decaf. I’m not sure how much caffeine they put inside but what I tasted was enough and it was a soft blend of coffee.
All of the coffees I tried were delicious (cold and hot). For me, they were perfect since I love rich coffees with an intense chocolate taste but there is a chance that the coffees I tried might be too strong or sweet for some of you if you dislike sweet coffee. But in that case, you could try their Milk Tea.
Bean Leaf Mocha Hazelnut Drink: I like this one too! It’s one of my favorite drinks from them. It tasted the same as the ones I tried in other Coffee shops and the taste/flavor wasn’t new to me.
Bean Leaf Matcha Green Tea: Like I said in my statement above, this was my least favorite because I just don’t like the hint of green tea. I like the smell but not the taste.
Bean Leaf Citrus Malunggay: This was surprisingly good! I was kinda hesitant to taste it and I was doubting if it would taste good because of the Malunggay flavoring (Malunggay juice is a little bitter) but to my surprise, it tasted just like regular juice with some flavoring. I couldn’t taste the Malunggay and the Citrus combination was so subtle that it made a perfectly flavored juice drink.
The Citrus Mulangay was the most mellow out of all of them, and even though Fema loved it, I felt like it was too bland. But that is one of the good things about their cafe, they have different strengths and flavors for different types of people.
Fema loved the coffee too but I am guessing that it would be too sweet for her to finish by herself (normal). I usually finish items like that when Fema gives up and that is probably why she liked the Citrus Malungay so much.
Bean Leaf Milk Tea: To me, it tasted like a subtle coffee with ice or in other words “Iced coffee”.
Their Milk Tea is a little bit more mellow than their coffees and feels a lot smoother, kind of like a marshmallow if that makes sense, but it has a shot of expresso so it still includes that coffee-chocolate taste in the background.
Among all of those sausages, the one that stood out for me the most was the Knockwurst Sausages. I rarely like sausages and I’m very picky when it comes to their taste but I guess I liked the flavor of the Knockwurst Sausages.
NOTE: They also offer meals with free fruit juice.
