Things you need:
1. Cork Board with Plywood or whatever board you prefer
2. Mini Hacksaw
3. Spray Paint in Chrome or Aluminum
4. Electrical Tape (it’s much better to use a silver version)
5. Adapter
6. Wire Flatcord
7. Strip LED Landlight
8. LPC-Power Supply for LED Landlight
9. Tripod
10. Sandpaper
11. Illustration board
12. Two circle objects (i.e buckets) that you can trace or you can improvise in your own way
Tips:
– I recommend you purchase Rope Lights instead of Strip LED Lights since they’re cheaper
– You can also use Cardboard instead of Cork Board so it’s more affordable
Why didn’t I use a Circle LED Bulb?
Answer: I tried one but I wasn’t satisfied with the outcome since the biggest size I could find was only 15 inches wide.
How much did I spend for this project?
Answer: I honestly don’t recommend you copy the exact items I used since I spent a lot of money, especially for the Strip LED Lights. Overall I spent PHP5,072.50 to be exact, except for the materials I already had.
Here’s how I did it (step-by-step):

So first I traced the desired circles I wanted by using buckets with different sizes. I used the bigger size first which I believe was 52 inches wide.

Then next was the tracing with the smaller bucket (12 inches wide)

Make sure you also leave enough space for your LPC-Power supply or some other kind of power supply of your choice

Here’s the final tracing

You’ll also need a small hacksaw but if you know someone who has the right tools they can help you. I was struggling so much when I was doing it by myself but it built my biceps =)

What I was doing here was hammering a hole into the board where I drew the smaller circle so I could insert the hacksaw.

You can skip this step but I wanted to smoothen the sides of mine using sandpaper. I did this on Day 2 =)

Next, I used Chrome Aluminum spray paint to spray my ring board. This helps to add more light since it acts like a mirror and reflects against the light bulb(s).

At this time, I was outlining a 2×45 inch strip of illustration board. I used it to make a wall where I could stick the strip LED lights

I cut two

Then I covered them with tin foil

I attached the LPC- Power Supply using electrical tape. Make sure you tape it on tight.

This is what the Strip LED Landlight looks like

I was sticking the Strip LED lights onto the wall I made from the illustration board. You’ll see the up close picture of what it looks like.

This is what the LPC-Power Supply looks like after connecting them together.

Here’s the finished product

Now here’s one of the last steps to finalize your ideal ring light. Get your tripod ready with some electrical tape and secure your ring light by tying them together. Again, make sure you tie them tight.

Here’s what it looks like at the back.

Get your camera ready and prepare yourself for a selfie =)

Here’s what it looks like without turning on my DIY ring light but the room lights are on. The background is so bright but the face is shadowy.

Here’s what it looks like with the room lights off but my DIY ring light on. Notice the difference i.e. the shadowy background.

Now here’s where all the lights are on (room lights and DIY ring light). To me, this is the perfect lighting =)

Here’s my reaction after I successfully did it! Don’t mind my messy hair and crazy expression… I just couldn’t hide my excitement =)
